100 Things About Me

I'm stealing this idea from Dawn. But in honor of my 100th post I'll post 100 things about me in absolutely no particular order. Anything you did or didn't know?

My birthday is September 4...I'm turning 26.....Getting older displeases me greatly...I love cats...Though in an ideal world I'd have two Panda's and a tiger for a pet....I hate horror flicks... ... I've introduced at least 30 to the Molten Chocolate cake at Chili's and so far 99% success..I love the ocean because it fills me with peace....My favorite color is pink...My favorite to decorate with is shades of maroon and beige....I love drawing henna/mehndi patterns....I'm not a breakfast person...Friendship is very important for through life I'm learning it's value....My longest friendship has lasted 15 years (and counting..).....I like Desperate Housewives...And Boston Legal... And King of Queens....My favorite singer is Sarah Mclaughlan....Jason Mraz's music can turn a frown upside down...I love it so much when people over at our place....I love to travel.... I feel I'm doing the right thing as far as reducing pollution, but I'm a car girl....When Aladdin came out, my neighbor's four year old daughter saw me with my hair braided wearing Pakistani clothes and ran in to the house shrieking "It's princess Jasmine outside!"...I dislike it when people talk obnoxiously loud on their cell phones about private matters.... Calvin and Hobbes is my favorite comic strip...The Daily Show really is the best news show- ever....I met Bill Clinton.... In Michigan a coworker's brother in law was Scott Foley (Noel from Felicity)...So I knew before everyone that him and Jen would be divorcing soon because she told me!....I've watched the entire show Felicity on WE at least 3 times over....I think she should have ended up with Noel...I love talk radio when driving....I was in Hurricane Andrew in 1992.....And I lost my home.....I still freeze in my tracks with fear when there is strong wind.....I actually like diet soda....The nicest hotel I stayed at was the Wyndam El-Conquistador in Puerto Rico....Reefs are my favorite flip flops....I like the fan on even when its cold... I had a recurring dream as a child that may have saved my life at 14... I really should be studying right now!

Wow. What a list. I am from South Florida--so I was there too in 92 during Andrew. I'm very sensitive and sentimental about weird things, though. I work at White Barn. heehee I'm crazy about Calvin and Hobbes. Omigosh. If we ever met, we would have a million things to talk about. Oh, except, I hate pulling weeds. :) Take care. I really really enjoyed your list. There were other things too. And, thank you for the sweet comment about my girl, Faith. Her birthday was Friday and we had a party for her on Saturday. It was a good time. It's hard to believe she is three years old. Talk to you another time.

Wow, I loved reading that list. As I read it, I started asking myself, "Did I know that?" I knew a lot of it, but also a lot I didn't.

It was good to read. :-)

Thanks Nadia- you should put your hyperlink on your comments so your website is accessible!

Marel- you were in Hurricane Andrew also?? We were near the Metro Zoo so everything was pretty much flattened..I still remember the news bulletin "The baboons have escaped from the zoo.. if you see them please do not try to pet them"... lol...The candle I bought from White Barn was the ones that are pretty big and they have scents like "Osmanthus" "Fig" "Orange Blossom" I love them so much though they are a bit pricey :(.

Your post, I love it. I love hte idea, very creative - did I forget to mention insightful?!?!

Anyway - it's crazy that you mention that you speak Punjabi and talk in your sleep. If there was a champion of talking during their sleep - it's me. All through my undergrad, I mumbled my way through each night and my roomate had to listen to me mumble and speak from english to urdu to crass punjabi. My roomate contends that he not only learned punjabi, he also learned a lot about bioengineering and genetic engineering!

Good thing I don't have to live in a room with my roomate - save them the burden.

You don't like horror movies? You're missing out! Have you watched the Ring?!

I'm actually from Homestead. I had to stay in town for three days waiting for the airports to open up again. I was supposed to fly out that Sunday to go back to college. I couldn't believe the devastation. If I hadn't seen it for myself, I wouldn't have believed it. I'm sure. My mother didn't have electricity for three weeks. My aunt's took alot longer. It was so sad to see how only the rich had electricity because they could afford the gouging of generator prices.

Regarding the candles, those are the Henri Bendel. Fig and Osmanthus are great. I love Vanilla Bean, White Lily, and Tuberose. I'm into the flowered scents alot of the time. They are pricey but they fragrance the room so well. Most people--once they give Henri Bendel a try, they have to admit that it is such a great candle.

Well, I'll talk to you later. I guess I should sleep now. :)

Two things I greatly admire: the dedication it takes to go to law school, and your nose piercing

One thing we have in common: Wyndam El-Conquistador in Puerto Rico

Great list!

Great list. I made it through hurricane Hugo in Charleston years ago. Most terrifying night of my life. Nothing like climbing out of the basement of a house in the morning and finding a boat in the front yard....nevermind that the nearest marina is 15 miles away!

Very informative. I discovered that we have at least two things in common--a love of weed pulling and a hate of living in Michigan.

Aisha said...

Marel, yes Henri Bendel! Someone gave it as a gift and I've since become addicted to them!

Thanks Robin! :) I can't seem to access your site, it says it doesn't exist when I click on it.Isn't the Wyndham in Puerto Rico amazing? I love how close it was to the rain forest.

and GSJ: WHY do people like Horror flicks. Isnt there enough bad news in the world?? So no, didn't see the ring!

Jane, I feel that weed pulling is cathartic, don't you?

"Ash" isn't it strange after going through an experience like that we can look at the peculiar absurdities and smile? (boat in the yard.. babboons running wild)

I loved getting to know more about you. You seem like such a cool, well rounded and worldy person - I wish I knew you in real life. You have done many interesting things, and we have some things in common :)

I'm 26. I hate horror movies, I think mehndi is beautiful (although I don't apply it. Being Caucasian people would probably think I was a weirdo), I'm not a breakfast person either, I love Sarah McLaughlan, and I just started drinking Chai and love it.

The story about the kids thinking you were Jasmine is so cute. Do you like your traditional dress? I think it's so beautiful.

What does Jadore smell like? Is it spicy or flowery? Never smelled it before :)

Aisha said...

Thanks Tee:) we have a lot in common! I can't believe you have kids at 26... I'm in awe! I love Pakistani clothing, I don't wear it as much as I used to, but it's so comfortable! Jadore is flowery I think, It's by Christian Dior (sp?)and it won fragrance of the year quite a few times... it smells good, you should try it!

Aisha - I'm going to have to go to the store and smell that :) ... As for the kids at 26 - the women in my family start young. LOL. I got married when I was 18 years old.
