Jill Carroll Free

Alhamdullilah. I always held hope Jill Carroll would survive. I don't know why but I felt I could relate to her and since January 7 I've prayed for her as I thought of her, her parents, and the three months of hell they endured. I am floored at criticism for her statements while in captivity. She says it was duress.... why does she need to justify it? How cruel to accuse her just hours after her release for what she did to survive! What would they have done in her shoes? I am thankful for her release and pray for the quick release of others still in captivity.

Yes God bless her and her family.

Even if she gave misleading statement to fool kidnappers..its worthed for her life.

Praise God that she is released, I am so thankful. I saw all the hateful things that people have been saying about her and its just awful. Exactly, what would they have done in her shoes? I would say that purple unicorns should rule the world if someone was pointing a gun at me and telling me to say it!

Mystic and Southern, exactly. Purple unicorns, elephants grow on trees, I'll say what I need to in order to escape. People who dont understand otherwise in my opinion should be grateful they dont have to make that choice.

I too was floored by the nasty and just plain STUPID comments and criticisms of Ms. Carroll. You know what? If I had a gun to my head I would damn well renounce my country and say whatever I was told. If that makes some moron call me a coward or a terrorist sympathizer so what. I'd like to see what these criticizers would say if they had been in her shoes. Would they choose death? B--tards.

Jane exactly. I wonder if they just do it to get controversy stirring and some attention. When I saw those tapes I saw a scared girl who did not know if she would leave alive. She did what she needed to do and she was a self composed woman as she did it. I think she is a hero.

I don't get the criticism she has been getting..the poor gal was kidnapped and almost killed..who wouldn't have said whatever the kidnappers ordered??

True, it's always easy to criticize when you're the one in that particular situation.

sorry I meant *not* in that particular situation.

Hopefully the media will not fan the flames of these attention seekers who I suspect only say this to get some attenion on their otherwise small lives.

I don't know how anyone can critisize anyone in that situation. I'd like to see them handle it differently. I don't think so!

It's really a miracle she was released alive. Her family must feel so much joy.
