Story and Chai: An important addition to the expanding American narrative

Jennifer Zobair, author of Painted Hands, just launched her brand new site, Story and Chai, and I for one am thrilled. The site is intended to serve as a creative space for readers and writers of non-majority literature, with a primary focus on Muslim writers and narratives. The site will feature book reviews and discussions, author interviews, guest posts, and advice on writing and publishing. The intention is to promote authors and books, as well as to encourage new writers.

There needs to be space for writers who are outside the mainstream narrative and that is why I am so proud to be part of this site. As I am an avid reader and writer and lover of all things Young Adult, I will be focused on the YA part of things. My first post is up today and I explain why, despite loving everything from Jhumpa Lahiri to George R. R. Martin, I write primarily young-adult literature.  I hope you will click over and check it out!
